The Department of Computer Application is started in year 2004 with the introduction of the Master of Computer Application (MCA).The objective of the department is to produce world-class computer professionals in this fast-emerging and challenging field of Computer Applications. The department strives to empower the students with the latest technical knowledge and skills by providing them with the best teaching faculty, state-of-the-art lab facilities, excellent research and development environment. The motivation is not just to nurture their technical skills but to inculcate dynamic professionalism to become the best software professionals and entrepreneurs.

The department lays maximum stress on positive attitudes through counseling and student mentoring programs. Department adopted three prolonged strategies for counseling and guidance of students. Firstly, it is done at the level of the subject teacher. Secondly, at the level of the mentor who counsels the students on career, studies and personal problems and finally, at the level of TIC.

The department organizes series of the seminar, webinar and workshops by eminent personalities from Industry, Academia and Professional bodies to upgrade the technical and teaching skill of the staff and student. The department encourages faculties and students to participate in National/International conferences to exhibit their ideas in the form of presentations and also publications in peer-reviewed Journals. To develop leadership qualities, students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

The department has a team of experienced and competent faculty members. Innovative teaching techniques are used in classrooms to make teaching and learning more effective and interesting. The department is producing qualified MCA students and has gifted to the corporate world with highly creative, dedicated and committed professionals serving in most reputed IT Companies viz., Wipro, Infosys, TCS, CTS, Accenture, Capgemini, etc. Therefore, the department has a huge alumni network. The department of Computer Applications endeavors to provide the best professional opportunities to our students and look forward to their bright future. We as a team resolve to take the department to a height of success and glory and prepare for the forthcoming challenges.

To make our students technically superior and ethically strong to provide cost effective solution for the fastevolving IT environment. Our endeavor will be to provide all possible support to promote research and developmentactivities in the Department.

Program Educational Objectives (B.Tech)

  • PEO1: Graduates will be prepared to excel in graduate school or technical careers through a world-class, rigorous and competitive program in the field of Computer Applications.
  • PEO2: Graduates will be trained across the spectrum of applied sciences and technologies, recognizing and exploiting common descriptions in disparate systems.
  • PEO3: Graduates will be trained with sufficient scientific and Computer Applications breadth to design and create novel solutions to real-life problems in computing domain.
  • PEO4: Graduates will develop professional and ethical attitudes, effective communication and teamwork skills in students, and an ability to apply science and computational issues and solutions within the broader societal context.
  • PEO5: Graduates will be provided with an academic environment committed to excellence and innovation that contributes for developing ready individuals with leadership, professionalism, and life-long learning attitude for professional careers in the field of Computer Applications.

Program Outcomes (B.Tech)

  • PO1 Technical knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, technical fundamentals, and a technical specialization to the solution of complex technical problems.
  • PO2 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex technical problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and technical sciences.
  • PO3 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex technical problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4 Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5 Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern technical and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex technical activities with an understanding of their limitations.
  • PO6 The technocrat and the society: Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional technical practice.
  • PO7 Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of professional technical solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for, sustainable development.
