Can I change my branch after the first year?

Yes! NIT allows branch changes after the first year based on your CGPA. Typically, you need to be in the top 10% of your current branch to be eligible for a switch.

Is hostel accommodation mandatory for first-year students?

No, hostel is not mandatory. However, we strongly recommend it for outstation students as it helps with networking, campus life, and academic support. Hostel facilities are well-maintained with Wi-Fi, mess, and recreational areas.

What is the placement record for CSE and IT branches?

NIT has an excellent placement track record. For CSE and IT, 85–90% of students get placed with average packages ranging from ₹4.5–6 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, and startups. Highest packages have touched ₹18–22 LPA.
