The department of Computer Science & Engineering hosts B.Tech and M.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering. The process of learning is very important in life, developing a student's intellectual capability and also providing him with a career. The place where this learning is facilitated is very crucial. The excellent infrastructure, learned faculties ensures quality education at this institute.

Besides a Training and Placement cell ensures bright future to its students. The students in the B.Tech program get to perform hands on experiments in Data Structures, Programming Languages, DBMS, Networks, Operating Systems, Object oriented Systems and other fields inComputer Science & Engineering. The class lectures, laboratory experiments and student projects prepare the Students for a career in computer industry or future post graduate studies.

The students in the M.Tech program get to do a mix of course and research work preparing them for a future in teaching and research profession. We are confident that our students will be regarded as assets to the organization they serve in future.

Prof.(Dr.) Maitreyi Ray (Kanjilal) - Being the Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) I am delighted to express my thoughts about the departmental growth. The average passing result is excellent in the department. Almost 10-15% students scored above 9 DGPA. Apart from this we are running P.G. Program (M. Tech.) in ECE (Comm. Engg.) since 2009. The department of ECE offers premier professional technical training that keeps in pace with the latest developments in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. It offers four year full time B.Tech program in ECE. The course is accredited by NBA. We have excellent infrastructure, highly experienced faculties and professionals associated with research work which collectively ensure dynamic and vibrant environment in the campus. Recently one of the Faculty of this department is going to attend one International Conference at Taiwan. The department organized one day IEEE Educational Program on "The Recent Advances on Mobile Computing and Bluetooth Communication" and also organized one day educational tour to The Satellite Earth Station at Kulpi in 2011.Many of our Ex-students are settled in abroad and also many students are engaged in Research work in premiere institutions. Furthermore two MODROB Projects are going on in the department. There is also separate departmental Library apart from the central Library in the ECE department.

Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (AEIE) department is the youngest of all the engineering branches taught in Narula Institute of Technology (NIT). AEIE department has been started in 2010 and currently it is in its second year.

Since inception NIT has built other engineering departments [e.g. Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT) and Civil Engineering (CE)] which have acquired commendable strengths and established them as efficient in producing good and successful students.

Following the same foot-step, AEIE department is in the process of building strengths in terms of terms of teaching faculty, laboratories, library facility etc. Currently three laboratories, namely Microprocessor and Microcontroller Lab, Sensors and Transducers Lab and Industrial Instrumentation Lab., are in preparation.

We here are committed to excellence and innovation in education and research. The Department has grown tremendously over the years and thrives as one of the gem of a Department of the University. Faculty members here are proven leaders in their fields. The "Student-Faculty-Staff" combination creates collegial, supportive and respectful climate here in the Department. The whole system is buoyed by undoubted cutting edge research and technology facility with innovative and flexible curriculum which facilitates growth of imaginations and rationale all at the same time in the student's minds.

The Department is dedicated to balancing the built environment with the natural world for the student's mind to understand the importance of the nature and natural system, how to intelligently use resources to design some sustainable infrastructure. There are experienced guides with more than thirty years of industry and academic experiences in the field of Soil Mechanics, Concrete Technology and Highway transportation Engineering Lab in the concerned Labs. The Environmental Engineering Lab too is coming up as another best thing here. The Department synergy is maintained through some thoughtful categorization of topics which enlighten the whole program and these are - Structure, Concrete Technology, Environment and Construction Management.

The civil Engineering Department, among many things, specializes in structural design with some mention worthy professional experiences to support this. The Quality Control Management works through our Labs also are proven professional works for any Civil Engineering constructional work standard.

Practically this Department just got started on 2007 and it's first batch came out this year 2011 but we are proud to announce that our passed out students are already exhaustively placed in renowned Multinational Companies like Simplex, Tusscon, Ganon Dunkerley, Ramky, L & T, TCS, etc. with incredible offers. Number of students get also more than one service. Among 59 students six has cracked GATE Examination and four has already got the scope to do M.Tech degree from Roorky Engineering College, IIT and BESU.

With impetus for a new looking good future we are really devoted to take this Department to a good height.

The Information Technology Department of this premier Institute provides the students with up to date knowledge based upon developments in software technology and its application in the relevant fields both traditional and emerging. The students gain industry oriented knowledge for their preparation to meet the demands in the competitive market. The latest theoretical lessons are always backed by ample laboratory practices.

We guide the students in proper direction amid an atmosphere of open mind-set to make them inquisitive about the emerging technologies with sufficient theoretical and practical training enabling them to readily adapt themselves in the globalised scenario.

Department provides very well designed Computer Labs with high speed internet connection. A total of 15,000 sq. ft. is used to create this state of art facility. In recognition some elite recruiting agencies make use of this facility for their on line test.

Close contacts with leading Training and Research Institutes of the country are maintained for fruitful collaborations in the ongoing advancements and progresses in the area of Information Technology.

The Institute also keeps in constant communication with leading companies in order to asses their needs in terms of manpower and know-how for better placement of students. Attempt is always made for an all-round development of the students including academic competence, leadership and personality, so that they grow up not only as highly skilled professionals, but also as responsible citizens.
