Can I change my branch after the first year?

Yes! NIT allows branch changes after the first year based on your CGPA and availability of seats in the desired branch. Typically, you need to be in the top 10% of your current branch to be eligible for a switch.

Is hostel accommodation mandatory for first-year students?

No, hostel is not mandatory. However, we strongly recommend it for outstation students as it helps with networking, campus life, and academic support. Hostel facilities are well-maintained with Wi-Fi, mess, and recreational areas.

What is the placement record for CSE and IT branches?

NIT has an excellent placement track record. For CSE and IT, 85–90% of students get placed with average packages ranging from ₹4.5–6 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, and startups. Highest packages have touched ₹18–22 LPA.
